Below is the spring testing schedule for Chadron Middle School. As you can see, spring testing is a very busy time and scheduling all of the required tests takes us most of the month April. Student attendance is a key piece to helping testing run smooth. Grade levels are scheduled for certain tests during specific blocks of time during the day. When students miss their scheduled testing block, they have to make it up during the scheduled make up days, which means that they will miss class. This is not ideal, but necessary to meet testing requirements.
There are several things that parents can do to help students be more successful on their assessments.
- Make sure that your child gets plenty of rest the night before the assessment.
- Make sure that your child gets breakfast before coming to school. Students will be able to eat breakfast at school, but if the assessment is scheduled in the morning, students will begin testing during 1st block and won't get breakfast until 9:15.
- Help your child get to school on time. Assessments will begin right after attendance is taken at the beginning of first block and third block.
- Encourage your child to do their best. Many students get nervous about testing, but I always tell them to just take their time and do their best. There is really nothing more that we can ask.
Below is the testing schedule. As you can see, Chadron Middle School will begin our spring NeSA and MAP testing on Thursday, March 31st with 5th and 8th grade NeSA Science. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Dressel at 432-0708 or by email at nichlas.dressel@chadronschools.net.
