First Day of School!

Parents,

We kicked off the 2017-18 school year with our welcome back assembly. We started by covering the basics, including our new T.H.I.N.K. Cardinal Pride program. In addition, We introduced the theme for the school year: Dream Big and G.R.O.W. (Goals, Resilience, Opportunity and Will). Next, Mrs. Traphagan, Mrs. McCartney, Mrs. Skavdal and Mrs. Waugh led the students in some welcome back cheers and we even had the Cardinal Mascot join us! Last, students were dismissed by grade level to get their schedules and then we started our regular 4 block rotation.

I want to thank everyone for their patience during drop off and pick up today. Overall, I thought that it went pretty smooth. Students were sent home with their back to school packets. Please get the forms signed and returned to the middle school office ASAP and no later than Monday, August 21st. Remember, students must have the eclipse form returned to school by 8 AM on Monday to participate in the outdoor activities on that day.

We had a great first day of school. The students were excited to be back and the faculty and staff were excited to have kids in the building again. Parents, thank you for the many ways that you support your children and the Chadron Middle School faculty and staff. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,

Nick Dressel
Chadron Middle School Principal

CMS Parent Meeting Information and Slideshow

Parents,

CMS will host two parent meetings - August 9th (5th Grade Orientation) and August 10th (6th-8th Grade). Both meetings will be held at 6 PM in the CMS gym. Families that have a 5th grade student and another student in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade do not need to attend both nights. The same information will be covered at both meetings.

I understand that families are busy and some may not be able to attend. I've made the slideshow available to everyone to ensure that the basic information is shared. I do encourage families to attend the meetings if they are able. There are often questions that address issues that I did not include and I will go into greater detail on some of the topics. (slides change every 10-seconds or use the controls at the bottom of the slides)
