2012
Dear
Parents/Guardians:
I cannot
believe that it is already the end of the school year! I am excited about all of the great things
that happened this year and I’m sure that our students are ready for a well-deserved
break. The purpose of this letter is to
provide you with information about the schedule for the last week of
school. The complete schedule for the
last week of school is on this letter.
The schedule is also posted on the school’s website at www.chadronschools.org and on my blog
page at http://mrdressel.blogspot.com.
Also, please be sure to return all
books and math book CDs that you may have checked out from the school before
May 18th.
7th and 8th
Grade Last Day of School
The last
day of school for 7th and 8th graders will be on Thursday, May 17th. Students will take final exams and then be
dismissed at 11:17. Students may choose
to eat lunch at school, but they don’t have to.
Please talk to your student about where they are supposed to go after
they are dismissed. 7th and 8th
graders will not be allowed to hang around the building and the expectation is
that they leave campus. Students should not bring book bags to
school on the last day because they will not have a locker to store them
in. If they do bring a bag, I will
collect them and keep them in the office.
The 7th and 8th grade awards ceremony will be held on May 17th at
6:00 p.m. in the HS Auditorium. In past
years, the ceremony was held during the school day, but we moved the ceremony
to the evening so more parents can attend.
5th and 6th
Grade Last Day of School
The last
day of school for 5th and 6th graders will be on Friday, May18th. The 5th and 6th grade
awards assembly will be held in the MS gym at 9:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend. If time allows, we will have activities set up
until their dismissal at 11:15.
Following the students’ dismissal at 11:15, all students and parents (5th-8th) are invited to a community
picnic, which will be held behind the high school. There is no cost, but we will take free-will
donations to help cover the cost of food.
We hope to see many students, parents and community members there – the
more the merrierJ!
Thank
you for all that you do to support your student(s) and our school and if you
have any questions, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Nick
